First you will need to have purchased version X in the past such that you can revive its installation/activation.  You will need the serial number from the original installation and then you can download the trial version of the sioftware from the page linked below and use the serial number to activate it.

Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

Ned,

thanks for the reply. i may not have been clear enough.

We have purchased Acrobat X1 for Mac. this does not work for a number of plugin applications ( ihave been informed that Adobe have chnaged the way it loads plugins wthin x1). We have been informed by one of our software vednors that we need acrobat X and not X1.  Is there any way just to get x and use the licence we have purchase for X1?

many thanks,

Douglas

I understood your original posting and my response remains as is.  Adobe does not sell older versions of their software.  If you want to install X then you need to have purchased it in the past when it was their current software.  You might be able to find some third party vendor but it is doubtful that anyone here is going to identify such a resource... not in defense of buying from Adobe but from fear that any third party vendor could be suspect of not being on the up and up.
