Question

How to get "everything" on a new bought computer

I have a MacBook pro that is now outdated and now I bought a new MacBook Pro.

I also have the Adobe Creative Cloud Photo Subscription including 1TB of cloud storage, where I sync all my photos.

My question is:

What steps do I take when I have my new computer? When I read Apple support I should use the migration assistant to move everything to the new Mac. But when I try to find any information regarding this in Adobe I do not get any clear understanding on how to do this. My understanding is that you have to reinstall the Creative Cloud on your new Mac. Are the files on my cloud storage downloaded to my new Mac if I install the applications, or how to do it?

Could anyone give me a stepwise instruction how to do this.

Thanks Lars

As far as I know, the reason for Migration Assistant, and Time Machine for backups, not working is that the Adobe installer puts HIDDEN registration files on the hard disk... and neither MA or TM "capture" those hidden files... so Adobe programs will only work when installed, not copied using either MA or TM

The Apple Geniuses don't seem to understand that Migration Assistant does not work with Adobe software.  You must run the installation routines for each software app you plan to use.

Step by step:

If you have data locally on your old machine, do not forget to copy those over to the new machine so not to loose them. That does not necessary mean data of Adobe programs alone.
