How to handle PSE11 when I do a complete reinstall of my OS

I plan to do a complete reinstall of my Windows 7 64 bit OS.  I have PSE11 installed at present.  Can I just uninstall PSE11 before starting the reinstall, and then reload PSE11 after the reinstall is complete? Or should I just let the reinstall wipe PSE11 off of PC?   Is there some problem about my license or other thing that I should know/do before I start this?  I have been warned that sometimes Adobe will not let me reinstall PSE11 again.

Thanks for your help.

Thank you very much....in other words, I just reinstall the PSE11 and put in the key that came with it and that is all I need to do....Adobe does not "fuss" about installing this again.

I assume that any thing I did or added to PSE11 will be lost....is there a way to save any of those things?

    Thanks again.

correct.  as long as you are not changing any hardware, you do not need to deactivate pse 11 before reinstalling and reactivating.

correct.  but yes, you can save your catalog: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/backup-restore-move-catalog-photoshop.html

how are you planning to reinstall your os?  are you going to reformat your hd first?  just reinstall your os over your current installation?

I am just learning how to do this...I have "Emergency Factory Recovery" disks made by the store where I bought my PC.  As I understand this, it will reformat (or wipe my hd clean as some say) and then reinstall the OS.

I am very, very senior, and trying to gather all the information that I need to accomplish this task.  Last year, with a whole lot of help from a great Tech at Dell, I did completely reinstall the OS on my Laptop.  This machine is an HP and I am searching for help with all I need to do this.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I just don't want a problem with reinstall my PSE11...I do have the CD disk for this program, and the key.

if your hd is restored to factory settings, all programs you installed after receiving your computer will be removed (assuming you installed all the programs to their default directories).

so, after restoring your computer you will need to reinstall all the programs you want to re-add including pse11.  you will need your serial number for that but nothing else needs to be done to ready your computer (or yourself) for the reinstall.
