How to install Acrobat XI Pro trial in Mac's main Applications folder

The installer keeps telling me it can't install in the Applications folder at the Mac's root level because of "retrictions." That's crazy! All other applications download by default into that folder. What's the problem?

Romit, this is the eror message (image below). The installer wants to go to another Applications folder in my user account. This is what happens when I try to choose the Mac's main Applications folder, where all of the apps are actually located.
