Hello

Since one year I use Lightroom6 . Before that I had Lightroom 3 on my MAC.

Now I wanted give my former LR3 to my nice incl. the serial number. But she can not activate the LR3 serial number and I do not know how to de-activate it.

For my new LR6 I have a new Serial number.

Please where can I de-activate my former LR3 license. Thank you for a short help

Greetings

When you have a non-functioning computer and can't deactivate, use the link below

Serial number and activation support (non-Cloud) https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2041990 to adjust activation count

IF she has Mac El Capitan read below

CS6 and earlier programs have not been tested and will not be updated to run on Mac El Capitan

-which means that you try to use CS6 and earlier at YOUR risk of having problems

-you may get CS6 and earlier programs to install and run, or you may not (some do, some don't)

    -Java https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/dreamweaver-java-se-6-runtime.html may help

Install CS5 on Mac 10.11 https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2003455 may help (also for other than CS5)

-also a TEMPORARY security change https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2039319

There was no activation mechanism in Lightroom 5 or earlier. Activation first appeared in Lightroom version 6.

But she can not activate the LR3 serial number

What is the exact error message? It cannot be related to activation. Does it say serial number not accepted?

Is she entering a LR3 serial number into an LR3 installation?

    Hello John

Thank you for your answer. I have to see what is going on. My nice lives some 400 km away from me.

What is the exact error message? It cannot be related to activation. Does it say serial number not accepted?

What she reported was, when entering the serial number the figures turn red further installing steps will not be made.

Is she entering a LR3 serial number into an LR3 installation?

Yes she does. She has my LR Installation CD and the serial number which printed on the original LR3 Packaging. I assume some blockages because I used this LR3 on two different computers and the serial number is somehow blocked fro further installations. However I do not see in it my adobe account. I only see my LR6.

Anyhow: I check the failure messages more intensive

    Thanks and Regards

    Emil
