How to install Lightroom from CC when Lr5 is already installed

Little help?

I have LR 5 (5.2) installed and have just joined the photographers deal.  I have installed Ps no problem but have been told by 'Chat' that to install lightroom from the cc i first need to uninstall lightroom 5?  Surely not?  Do i need to re-import everything, redo all the previews, recreate all my collections?

Surely im missing something?

Thanks for any advice.

open lr5, click help>deactivate.

then click help>activate and use your cc adobe id to activate.

although, if you already purchased lr 5 outright, it doesn't make sense to do that.

on the other hand if you have lr 5 via a previous cc subscription you should have used the same adobe id for both cc purchases.

Thanks KgLad, only question / query i have is with the stand alone (previously installed outright owned) Lr will all the updates etc come through?  No issue if theres a Lr6 as i can download that through cc.  Infact as i have a registered Lr5 then theres no need to worry it will update on its own anyway.

Thanks for your help - I'll engage my brain next time :s

i don't believe there's any difference in the updates to lr5 for cc subscribers vs license purchasers.   in fact, i'm pretty sure you can even update via your cc app.
