How to install Photoshop 7 upgrade from CD to replacement computer

This installation looks for an older version as validation. I am replacing my desktop and want to install Photoshop 7 on it but there's no previous installation for the disk to check, so I get an error message. A few years ago this happened on installing to my laptop and Adobe gave me a code to use after typing photoshop\setup.exe unlock

But now Adobe says to use the Creative Suite 2 download instead. I tried that and it rejects my serial number (which is for Photoshop 7, not CS 2.) How can I install this program on my new desktop?

If you don't have the serial number of your previous version, I know of no way to install your upgrade version... and it is too old for Adobe to give you any activation code

CS2 + Acrobat 7 + Audition 3 (AND EARLIER) Activation Server is gone, so read below

    .

You MUST use the special version and serial number on the page, not your original disc or serial number

Thanks John. The onscreen serial number was the solution. I didn't use that previously.
