how to make the font download work

I recently downloaded an Adobe font into my font folder. I purchased WOodtype Ornaments std.otf.

I am using Mac OS X. THe problem is that the file opens as a bunch of black circles and not the ornament fonts I pruchesed. How do I make it readable on my computer.  Other otf files work perfectly fine in my font folder.

Any help would be appreciated.
