I am getting an error when I try to install my upgrade to Lightroom 4 on my iMac 10.8.2 with a dvd. The error says "The installation failed contact the manufacturer." Which I am trying to do but have been on hold for over an hour. This is ridiculous. Anyone????

I never install software from the DVD personally. It's usually outdated and requires upgrading anyway. I just download the latest version online.

Have you tried downloading Lightroom 4.2 from the Adobe website and entering your serial number?

Thank you very much. That worked. I spent over two hours on hold with Adobe and never got to speak to anyone. I hope you have a wonderful holiday!!! I never thought to do it this way. I always thought it was just the update not the whole program.
