I am suddenly being asked to sign in online to use my photoshop 2024 installed on my PC - why ?

I have a stand alone version of Photoshop and Premiere installed on my PC. Today when I went to edit an image I get a box asking me to sign in on line. This should not happen. My software is on my machine and I don’t use the cloud.

    @Jeff_A_Wright God only knows but have just reinstalled it and seems ok. thanks for replying. We lose the web here a lot so don’t do clouds etc.

    I appreciate your long-term use of Photoshop Elements 2024. Did you encounter any problems with the sign-in process?

    You are correct, you should only need to activate the software once, but if a major change occured to the computer, or the licensing files were damaged, then you would be asked to activate again. If no hardware changes to the computer occured, then the same activation will be utilized and refreshed on the local computer.

    The page you sent me does not help in this case sadly. I was using it and then today it just asked me out of the blue when I opened it to sign in and I only get so far because it just stops, plus it looks as if it is a US thing and I am in the UK. It says sign in and when I do it just hangs. I don’t understand why today !  Nothing has changed at my end.

    I appreciate the update, ​@squawker. The system requirements were to confirm that you do still need an online connection to use the software.

     

    What changed on the computer, ​@squawker? Did you update or change the installed security software? What operating system do you have Photoshop Elements 2024 installed on?
