I can  not enter the serial number in the installation window because the boxes do not take letters, what then?

    If there are letters in the code then it is not a serial number.  Serial numbers have 24 numbers (6 groups of 4 numbers).  What you have could be a redemption code which is what you use to acquire a serial number - usually if you purchase from a store or other third party affiliate.
