I cannot get the Web Permium CS5.5 to download and run.

I have my serial nubmers and am upgrading from one laptop to another. It took several tries to get both parts of English version downloaded, Each time one of the downloads would sit frozen with '2 hours' to go. Then when I try to run it, it tells me Archive files missing, must be downloaded. I am hitting a brick wall trying to get this done or even to get support. Upgrading from one laptop to another took Adobe support personnel and special codes last time as the updgrades from each version wouldn't work with the latest serial number. If I can't get help, I can't use the product anymore!!!

I have turned off blocking cookies, and attempted to download the files several times from the page in kglad's link.

I tried both in Chrome and IE and finally realized that the 7z file was downloading just so slow it showed no progress on the standard response tab in Chrome and IE for a long period of time,

But even after downloading is complete, I get that the archive files cannot be extracted. This was the error I got the first time I downloaded the files which is why I deleted them and then had 'trouble' downloading again. Is there a cookie I need to delete?

These are the cookies that now show up for Adobe:

    s7.addthis.com  - Local storage

    adobe.com  - 17 cookies

    accountsadobe.com  - 10 cookies, local storage

    adobeid-na1.services.adobe.com  - 4 cookies

    www.adobe.com - 5 cookies, local storage

    ims-na1.adobelogin.com - 2 cookies

I did turn off my proxy server in case that was the problem, then rebooted, but with it off it took even longer to download.

The 7z file says it is 4.0GB on the download page, but I am only getting about 2.097 GBs showing when the file is complete. If this is incorrect, does anyone have an idea why the downlaod is so slow if if that has to do with it not completing successfully to 4.0 GBs?

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

what's the file size of your 7z file?  ie, does it match the expected file size?

if not, redownload using a different (faster/more reliable) connection and/or a download manager.

i assume this is for windows and you completed download of both the exe and the 7z files, correct?

you checked to see the file sizes of both the exe and the 7z match the expected file sizes, correct?

if yes and yes, what problem are you having?

Completing the downloads has happened only once. Since it then said archive files are missing, I deleted the downloads and tried again. Now all I get with the 7z file is it has '0.00/4.00GB, 2 hours left' and nothing is happening. So not sure of final file size. Exe file size is 1.2MB. This is a brand new Dell E6440 (I think, hard to read) with Windows 7, and MS Office Installed. Since I can't get the 7z file (or the 'missing Archive files') I can't go forward with the installation.

if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  Download Adobe CS5.5 Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant / Manager) | ProDesignTools

and activate with your serial number.

if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.

the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version.
