I am trying to update to the latest version of Adobe Photoshop (v24). I am currently using v 23.5.0. When I click on the Update button I get a message that says 'Can't update Photoshop... because Adobe Bridge 2022 and Adobe Photoshop are open. They are NOT open. (I am using macOS 12.6 Monterey). How do I fix this?

I tried that, but it didn't work. In the end I had to call in an ICT techie who went to OS ccommand line level to remove what he called a 'ghost version' of Photoshop that had not closed properly.  That's the only thing that worked.

restart your computer and immediately retry installing
