    Hi phillipadam2,

Yes you can transfer the licnese from the older Macbook to the newer one.

Launch any of the CS5 aplications, go to the 'help' menu and select 'Deactivate'.

    (KB to refer : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html)

On the new machine you can download and install CS5 and activate it using the purchased serial number.

    You can download Cs5 from : http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-product-downloads.html

Note : CS5 has not been tested on Mac Mavericks and you might face compatibility issues with it.

    Regards,
