I got a new laptop. Downloaded PSE 7 from Adobe site. It won't recognize my serial number.

I got a new laptop and downloaded PSE7 from the Adobe website. However, it won't recognize my serial number. I tried chat, they asked for the serial number and said it should work. But it doesn't. I type in the serial number and a red X shows behind the number

    what files (names and extensions) did you download and what link did you use?

    I used this link and downloaded PSE 7.  Download Photoshop Elements products | 9, 8, 7

    I was on Adobe chat for over 45 minutes, agent said they were checking something and then I got a message that my chat session was ended.
