- and Adobe are saying now that its nothing to do with them as its an old product which is really frustrating as it is only one week old to me. I'm running Maverick on a new iMac.  Gah!

The disk insallter says "Installer Failed to Initialize. Please contact Adobe Support"

So I did.  They gave me a download, which also gave the same message.

I asked them again, they said its an old product and so they can't help.

pre 11 is compatible with os 10.6-10.8 and you need a 64bit processor, System requirements | Adobe Premiere Elements

you can check other users experiences, http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

I have a brand new iMac running OSX Maverick 10.9 so that version of Premier Elements is useless? THAT is ridiculous.  What on earth would Adobe be supplying it for then? I'm so confused.

adobe is not selling old versions of its software.  its current versions (eg, pre 12) are compatible with current and recent past mac and win os'es.

i don't think adobe can control whether companies like canon or amazon vendors sell old versions of adobe software.

anyway, did you check other users experience with mavericks and pre 11?
