I had started a trial of Illustrator and due to the illness and subsequent death of my other-in-law, I have had about 2 days of use. It about to end, is there a possibility to get a new trial period?

Unfortunately there is no way to extend trials. You would have to wipe the computer completely and reformat it to exterminate the remnants of the activation system to be able to install it again and get another 30 days... Or use anotehr computer, if you have one. As it stands the only other reasonable option without all this hocuspocus would be a pre-paid 1 month single-app membership.
