Not sure why an Adobe employee would advise a CS5 owner to try a platform swap when platform swaps only apply to CS6.
The article linked above states:
"If you require a different language or operating system version of a product you purchased from Adobe, you can exchange your product. For example, if you now run Mac OS instead of Windows, you can swap Creative Suite 6 for Windows for Creative Suite 6 for Mac. Or you can exchange your product for a different language version. Here’s how.
Note: If you have an older version of a product, you must order an upgrade instead of an exchange."
So the customers options are:
- Stay with CS5 Win and buy a Win laptop
- Run CS5 Win on the Mac via Bootcamp or Parallels
- Purchase a CS6 for Mac upgrade
- Join the Cloud.
