I have replaced my XP with a new Windows 8. How do I install Elements 8 I used on the old PC please

I bought a new Windows 8 PC and want to get Elements 8 from my old XP installed on it.  I bought it online and still have the installation code but dont know how to install it.

    Hi sandwedge001,

    Elements 8 is an old software is not compatible with Windows 8.

    Please consider purchasing the latest version of Photoshop Elements 12.

    Thank you. I was considering upgrading but I have a very old CD of Elements 5 which works on windows 8 so I cannot understand why Elements 8 wont.
