I need a CS6 Activation Reset after hard drive failure – request from 30-year plus and current CS subscriber

I've been an Adobe customer since Photoshop 1.0 and have purchased every version of Creative Suite, including both Windows and Mac licenses for the final two versions. I've been officially registered with Adobe for over 20 years.

My old laptop recently failed before I could deactivate my registered CS6 Design & Web Premium license (Windows - Mac still active). Now, when installing it on a replacement computer, Adobe tells me that both activation slots are occupied.

I'm aware that Adobe no longer supports activation resets for CS6. However, Adobe Customer Care helped me with exactly this situation once before, and I'm hoping someone might consider an exception.

I still use Adobe's current products professionally, but CS6 remains useful for occasional personal projects at home… and my Macs are all now outdated too.

I'm not asking for updates, technical support, or an additional license ... just the ability to continue using software I legitimately purchased.

After more than three decades as a loyal Adobe customer, I'd sincerely appreciate a little goodwill.

Could an Adobe employee please advise whether this request can be escalated to someone authorized to consider an exception?

Thank you!

unfortunately, adobe support no longer resets activation counts.  so, without a computer that has a current activation, you can no longer recover an activation slot.  there’s no easy workaround.  see https://community.adobe.com/t5/download-install-discussions/activation-limit-reached-for-non-subscription-adobe-desktop-applications/td-p/14804413?linkId=100000305463075

No can do.  Activation counts cannot be reset. That technology no longer exists.

Also CS6 is outdated software for WinVista and Win7. It’s unlikely you have such an old machine anymore. Time to get compatible software for your modern hardware & OS.

Post back if you need replacement recommendations.

I have already been though all of this. There is no way to deactivate from a fried hard disk. Understand there is no workaround… other than goodwill and intervention from someone authorized who takes pity on me. Thanks anyway for responding. Appreciate your time.

    >intervention from someone authorized

As @kglad said, Adobe policy does not allow anyone to manually reset the activation count, so no employee is authorized to do what you ask
