I updated programs and now I cannot open Illustrator CC. Msg: "The application "Adobe Illustrator" can't be opened." On Mac Yosemite,

After downloading updates, I get a message when trying to open Illustrator CC that: The application “Adobe Illustrator” can’t be opened. Frustrating that I  can neither use the application nor get direct help.
