I upgraded my adobe Acrobat Reader Pro XI , bu I'm unable to save my work?

I upgraded my Adobe Acrobat Reader XI ( came when I bought my computer ) I was told by the sales person from Adove that if I upgrade the product I was able to save my work , but is not happening

    there's no reader pro.

    there's an adobe acrobat pro and there's an adobe reader.

    which do you have?

    and you said you upgraded.  you upgraded from what (program/version) to what (program/version)?

    note: adobe reader is free.  acrobat, pro and standard, are not.
