If I upgrade to OS Sierra, will it be compatible with CS5?

I'm running CS5 on a 2011 MacBook Pro with a new 512 SSD and 8 gigs of ram. When we upgraded my hard drive, they installed Mac OS version 10.8.5, which was the most recent version that the tech said would run CS5 without issue. My Mac is now three generations out of date and I would like to upgrade, but am concerned that if do I'll lose CS5.

Thanks!

Correct answer John Waller

CS5 is not officially supported by Adobe on Sierra but plenty of people are running it OK, at their risk. If you hit problems, there won't be any assistance for you other than these forums.

Adobe has published the following article to help you install CS5 on Sierra

The original question was..."will I lose the photoshop app if I upgrade my OS X.  Why do people not listen to questions and answer with utterly useless side notes.   Please from now on just answer the questions asked, that's all we ask for.....G.

The OP in this 3 year old discussion indicated that the question was answered.

You might regard the side notes as utterly useless. Others find them helpful.

Since I'm running it for professional reasons, it's the lack of support that I'm worried about, but thanks for the article!

Adobe no longer provides support for CS6 and earlier versions, no matter which operating system you use

Listen to the tech

Owners of old programs simply have problems with Mac El Capitan/Sierra... none of which is Adobe's fault... Adobe did not change your old program to make it stop working... Apple changed their operating system and THAT is why your old programs may not work, not because of anything Adobe did... Also... every time Apple issues an update, there is the risk that an old program that HAS been working will STOP working... bottom line, old programs require a matching old operating system

That's what I was worried about, and why I haven't upgraded yet. Thanks for your answer.
