Illustrator CS6 crashing on initial startup

After installing Illustrator from the Creative Cloud on a MacBook Pro, the application crashes every time I try to start it up.  I have never even gotten the splash screen.  I have tried uninstalling, running Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, and reinstalling from the Creative Cloud several times with the same results.

I have the same problem with Muse, although I do get the splash screen for about 5 seconds before it crashes.

All of the other applications that I have downloaded seem to be working fine (Photoshop Extended, Premiere Pro, InDesign, Dreamweaver).

Verify the user permissions on the app package itself. Right-click the installed Bridge.app --> Info --> User section. Then make sure everything matches the other apps.

Any other suggestions? I am having the same issue after just downloading the trial for Illustrator. It launches and then immediately quits.

I was once having the same problem with Bridge CS6 on Windows.  Do you know if you're having any problems with Bridge?  AI handles Bridge and Mini Bridge as does Photoshop so that's why I'm asking.  I really don't know much troubleshooting steps as far as Mac is concerned.  Also can you troubleshoot by installing AI Trial Version on Mac that is not downloaded via Creative Cloud?  There could be an issue with the Cloud.

What specific OS X are you running and what type of system configuration do you have?
