Illustrator CS6 gives CC-related error when launching

Hello.

I used to have a subscription to the CC suite a year or so ago. I bought a physical copy of Adobe Illustrator CS6 at a computer store but whenever I launch it, it gives an error telling me my Adobe CC subscription as expired and that is as far as it goes. I made sure all old Creative Cloud files are off my computer. I ran through both CC uninstaller tools. I tried calling Adobe support and they told me the error could be pulling it from my browser so I cleared all cookies and cache but it still gives the same error. The person on the phone told me to make a forum post.

Thanks for the help.

Ryans93 if you are receiving messages regarding a Creative Cloud subscription then it is due to upgraded components still being installed on your computer.  Which operating system are you using?

I would recommend you uninstall any Adobe Creative software currently installed on your computer.  This includes Creative Cloud, Creative Suite, Elements, and Acrobat software titles.  You can find complete details regarding the uninstall process for Creative Cloud at Uninstall or remove Creative Cloud apps .

Once you have ran all available Adobe uninstallers then I would recommend running the CC Cleaner Tool to ensure a complete removal.  You can find details, and the download and installation files, for the CC Cleaner Tool at Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems .

Once you have ran the uninstallers, and the CC Cleaner Tool, you can then reinstall Illustrator CS6.  You will no longer receive messages regarding Creative Cloud as the licensing and update components will no longer be the updated versions provided with a Creative Cloud installation.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I am on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

I ran through all of the steps you described and I am still having the same issue. Any other ideas?

Thank you!
