Question

Indesign 15.1.

I need an older version (15.1) of Indesign parallel to the current one for a customer. Until recently this was possible, with the new update to version 18.0 this is no longer possible. The last version I can install is 17.0, but I need 15.1.
Is there a possibility?

Since CC2020 and later versions Adobe has stopped providing public download links for installers. Hence, the predesigntools website would not be of help. The only authentic option to get the installer for this version is to contact Adobe support and ask them for it. They might provide a download link if it's available. To contact support follow the instructions given below
1. Go to https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
2. Wait a bit on the page that opens up, it should automatically open a chat popup. If that does not happen then look for a call out/chat icon at the bottom right, click over it and the chat popup should open
3. In order to talk to a human type "AGENT" in the chat box
4. If you are not able to get to the chat window, then disable your adblockers, firewall, enable cookies/scripts on your browser. If it still fails then change your browser/machine/network.

P.S. Be mindful of answering anyone who sends you a private message. See the following for more information about scammers

Thank you, unfortunately no popup appears. Neither on the page for my country (Austria) nor when I stay on the page and deactivate the automatic country selection.
I find it really sad that after 3 days i still haven't found a way to contact someone from Adobe directly.

You may want to try finding the version of InDesign you're looking for amongst these downloads:

https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-direct-download-links.html

ProDesignTools is a legitimate, quasi-endorsed source for older versions of Adobe Creative Cloud software. You'll need to have your current subscription information handy, and it's best if you can install it on a separate system (your Creative Cloud subscription authorizes use on two computers) to avoid potential conflicts with Creative Cloud files remaining from later installations.

If you can only use one system, first use Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner utility to wipe all the later/latest installation(s) off your system. Then install the older version you get from ProDesignTools first, followed by the latest version you'd otherwise use for regular production work.

Hope this helps,

Randy

In addition to, or instead of using the download from prodesigntools.com, Adobe Customer Support agents will provide you with a link to earlier InDesign versions.

Why do you need older version? Outdated plugin?

Sorry, I missed the client part 😞

Don't think you can go back so far...

Maybe it's time for your client to upgrade?

Yes is mainly due to a plugin, interface to an enterprise content management system.
Here almost 300 people would have to update, I think they want to save that as long as possible.
