    Hello,

My computer has just upgraded to Windows 11, however when I went to open InDesign CS5 the activation messsage appeared as though it were installed on 2 devices. Checking my Adobe account I cannot even see the computer I have been using on (Windows 10, now upgraded) I am baffled, and even spoke online to customer service without an answer.

unfortunately, there's nothing easy (or guaranteed) that will fix the issue.  you would have to restore your computer to its state before the upgrade/change.  and then see if your cs5 is still activated (any cs5 app > help and see if deactivate is clickable).

if it is, you can risk losing cs5 or leave your system unchanged.  if you want to risk it, make sure your win 10 is updated and your default browser is firefox or chrome and are updated.  then deactivate and hope.

As you mentioned you are using CS2 those can no longer be activated and CS6 can no longer be purchased. Being only a part-time user, then you only have a few options. Pay month-to-month when you need the applications or consider alternatives. To put this in perspective if Adobe's prices rose with inflation the CS6 design suite of $1,299 USD from 2016 would be roughly $1,700 USD today. At current subscription rates, a subscription is just over $700/yr USD. So if you could afford a CS6 license today, you should be able to afford 2 years of subscription.

If you are only doing basic edits with Photoshop and none of the features post-CS2 are of value to you, then you may be able to get away with using Photoshop Elements or other alternatives on the market. Same goes with InDesign that there are other competitive page layout programs on the market that may be priced within your means and provide you with the capabilities you need.

Are you getting a message that your purchased CS6 is now a trial?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

if yes, what problem do you see?  ie, copy and paste here (into a message reply) a screenshot of the problem
