Hallo!

I have purchased InDesign CS4 for Windows in 2009 and would like to know how I can get the software onto my Mac computer (which I now use) without having to buy a new software. Is there an economical way? Or would I have to buy a whole new software? Thanks for your answer. Barbara A. (Germany)

The windows version of InDesign will not work with a Mac.  You need the Mac version.  Adobe does not support platform swaps for older versions of the applications, nor do they sell older versions.

If your Mac is able to simulate the Windows operating system then you might be able to manage getting the Windows version working on the Mac.  You might want to check out Bootcamp for Macs, or there may be other simulators available as well.
