InDesign CS6 reverted to trial status, though downloaded under Creative Cloud licence

Hi! I've looked but not found this exact topic elsewhere in the forum, so please forgive any duplication.

I downloaded InDesign CS6 from Creative Cloud in 2017 (deliberately, as an older version). I have a valid current subscription to Creative Cloud. However just a few days ago I started getting a warning notice whenever I started InDesign CS6, with a countdown telling me how many days I had left of a 30-day trial period. Apparently the program has been reverted to trial status, and there is now no provision for me to download a later version without first uninstalling it. (That's the only option provided in Creative Cloud Desktop.)

I use the CS6 version deliberately, because I work with people who have even older versions; and the publishing software I use requires the same version in order to open a previous job: i.e., I cannot open older documents using a later version (hard to explain briefly—can give more details to anyone interested). I am running it on Windows 7, and I have found that more recent versions do not work as well for me in that environment, for various reasons.

I therefore really need to continue using CS6. Is there any way I can get it taken off the trial system to allow this, and also to allow me at the same time to try out a later version? (I.e., so that there are more options for InDesign than simply "Uninstall"!)

Many thanks for any help anyone can give!

Please refer to this help article.

https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/kb/stop-creative-cloud-trial-mode-after-purchase.html

MS just released Win11.  And security updates for Win7 ended 1-1/2 years ago. You know what that means...

Adobe expects customers to have the latest hardware & software, no more than 2 versions back.  CS6 is not sold or supported.  So unless you purchased a license for it previously, there's no way to re-install it from Creative Cloud desktop app.   You're using CS6 on borrowed time.

Adobe no longer provides CS6 as part of a subscription

The ONLY way to use CS6 now is to have purchased it separately WITH A SERIAL NUMBER

...unless it was previously downloaded and installed when it was available with the subscription and not uninstalled.

I thought that CS6 via subscription would only work as long as the cloud program that was used as the basis for running CS6 was not updated... so if the older cloud program was removed during an update, CS6 would stop working ???

check your account to verify your subscription is what you expect and to verify your adobe id, https://accounts.adobe.com

then sign out and back in to your cc desktop application using the same adobe id used to verify your subscription: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/sign-in-out-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

restart your computer and see if id cs6 is still on trial status.  if it is, you should probably uninstall it and then reinstall it.

you can still download the installation file here Download Adobe CS6 Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant or Manager) | ProDesignTools

follow the directions (esp, step 1)

save the install file. it won't remain online.
