Hi everyone,

I am a new user of the Mac OS - I have recently purchased an iMac Desktop. I have recently downloaded a free trial for InDesign - and I can't work out how to open the application from the Launchpad. I have clicked on the app icon and it just goes to the desktop.

Can anyone advise me?

Amanda I would recommend that you open InDesign from your Applications folder first.  Please post if you receive an error message when you try opening InDesign from there.

    Hi Jeff, thanks for answering!

I have tried that and the same thing happens - I click on the icon (which is called InDesignServer) which now I am not sure is the right thing I should be clicking on. There doesn't appear to be any other option.

The icon then appears to flash, but nothing opens.

    Thanks for your help!

Which InDesign version are you wanting to try Amanda?  It sounds like you have download InDesign Server which is a server based version of the application not designed for individual use.

If you wish to try the latest version of InDesign then you will want to use InDesign CC as part of the Creative Cloud trial/membership.  You can find more details at http://www.adobe.com/products/indesign.html.
