Inquiry About Adobe Creative compatibility with Windows 11

Hi, I’m planning to purchase a laptop that runs Windows 11, but I’ve read that Adobe Creative Cloud applications have been experiencing compatibility issues, including display problems and crashes. I primarily use Photoshop, InDesign, and Lightroom, and I need them to function efficiently without major disruptions.

Can you confirm whether these issues have been resolved or if Adobe is actively working on fixes? Would you recommend purchasing a Windows 11 laptop now, or is it better to wait for further optimisations?

Thanks for your help!

What is the exact laptop you are looking at? There are some apps that are not native to some of the Windows ARM-based laptops if that is what you are referring to: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/arm-processors.html . But for all other known issues they typically keep KB articles per program like this for photoshop documenting known issues and workarounds or fixes: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/known-issues.html .

NOT as simple as say YES because in some notable cases CC won't work...
For example - if you are using a NEW Microsoft Surface or any PC with Snapdragon processors (Lenovov, Asus, HP...) you are going to have (BIG) issues....

I have a lot of problems with crashes and can only run Illustrator in BETA (and occaisionally in 'Safe Mode' ) because the full app does not work at all with this processor... Be very careful

Hi Ben,

I'm considering using the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 12 for creative applications, as I mentioned previously. I also plan to use Microsoft 365 and Adobe Acrobat, but I'll need to install them first to check compatibility.

Thank you very much for the link; I will check it out.

I see no potential compatibility issues with that laptop. At minimum I would get 16GB ram and 512GB HDD, but I would look to get 32GB of ram and 1TB of storage to ensure you have sufficient shared memory for the video graphics for Photoshop as well as having ample storage for your scratch disk. That would be my only recommendation.

you should check the specs for each app, but as far as i know, they all work with win 11

Hi!

Yes, thank you very much! I'm on it. I just had a bit of hesitancy after reading some comments about potential known issues, but I appreciate your reassurance about not having any issues with this.

Thanks again for your advice and support.
