I Can't install/reinstall Acrobat X Pro on my iMac: accepts the serial number but will not recognize disk-loaded program, insists on upgrade.  Have tried uninstalling and installing a fresh copy.   Can anyone help?

is your acrobat x pro an upgrade from another version?

Hi kglad.  No, it is a boxed disc; I don't think I had an earlier version.  I had a Mac die on me and I migrated data to a newer Mac.  It seems to recognize my Serial Number but insists that it does not recognize a "qualifying" product on my system, inviting me to upgrade.  I probably will upgrade in a few weeks, but for right now I have an urgent need to get my program working on this newer iMac.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

oops, never migrate any adobe programs.  they should be properly installed.

if you can uninstall (using the adobe uninstaller) everything adobe that was migrated, clean your system and then properly install using your disk, http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
