Install Lightroom 5 with Lightroom 3 on the computer

Hi guys,

I have Lightroom 3 on my PC and now I want to install Lightroom 5. Can I do this without uninstalling Lightroom 3? Will Lightroom 5 realize that there are cataloges in Lightroom 3 and transfer them to Lightroom 5 automatically? Note that the Lightroom 5 Edition is a Full Version, not an Update Version. For me as a student the full version and the update were the same price, so I chose to buy the full version...
