Creative Suite serial numbers are platform specific. Windows serial numbers won't work on Macs and vice versa.

The gift is CS5 Windows (full version) and you already own CS6 Windows (full version)?

In that case, the only thing you can do with CS5 is install it on another Windows machine or pay to upgrade it to CS6 for Mac (and get a Mac serial number) then install it on your Mac..

    Thanks John,

I dont own a Windows machine..I am Mac specific..I will bite the bullet and pay to upgrade I guess..even tho I was assured I could run and install from folder format onto my Mac..
