Install stand-alone license for Acrobat 2017

I have a stand-alone license for Acrobat 2017, so installing it through the Adobe ID “subscription” is not an option. What do I do?

You have answered your question… your OLD program is not compatible with your NEW Mac, so you need a new program

Neither of these options is viable: Online editors can’t be used due to privacy and file size reasons; institutions like ours (with 70k members in our case!) due not support “plans” which is now the only way Adobe software is distributed. Thus, Adobe products cannot be used in these contexts anymore.

you can also buy a used mac with a compatible os, though this is risky because once installed, you’ll still need to activate to use beyond the 30 trial. if you no longer have an activation to spare (usually limited to 2), you will have a bigger problem (that may be surmountable).

Thank you for making this clear. One could of course argue about what is actually NEW in “newer” versions of Acrobat except for AI bloat. However, this will be my final departure from Adobe, as my institution is not able to pay for software subscriptions.

I thought I asked this question in another thread that dealt with macOS 27 (see below). I do have the installation file, but cannot install Acrobat 2017 on an Apple M2 under macOS 27, since only Intel architecture is supported.
