Installation Adobe on CC on MacBookPro M1 not possible. Intel version no problem.

I have migrated my old MacBookPro apps with the Migration Assistant to my new 16" MacBookPro M1 Pro.

With help of Rosetta, most apps run in Intel mode.

Now I want to run these Adobe apps in native M1 mode.

I used the recommended procedure with the Adobe CC Cleaner to remove the necessary parts.
https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Afer this I restarted my system and installed CC desktop and try to install the apps in native M1 mode.

After installation the apps are in still the Intel mode.

How to solve this puzzle?

With the help of an Adobe agent, remotely fixing my installation the proble is solved.

I'm not sure what he did, but I saw he id somthing to older Adobe libraries on my Mac.

I think things where stacked-up from several years and couldnt be removed by the Adobe Uninstaller and Cleaner tool. Thanks for helping me out!

Which apps? And which versions are installed? Perhaps the specific apps you want aren't M1 native yet.

Hi there,

The apps that I use are; Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Indesign and Lightroom CC. All the latest versions.

Adobe says that they are avaiable in a M1 version.

Hi kglad,

Thanks for your quick and detailed reply.

I did follow all of your steps except the first four.

Thats because I dont'have the oldbook MacBook anymore, I migrated weeks ago.

It's my production machine and getting back to default factory is no option for now.

Unfortunately after all other steps, I still have the same problem.

there were only 4 steps.

but maybe you misread that and first, uninstalled everything cc from and cleaned your new macbook, restarted your new macbook and then properly installed cc in your new macbook.

if so, (afaik) that's the best you can do.  you can see if adobe support has anything more:

using a browser that allows popups and cookies, contact adobe support by clicking here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human

p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative. ie, double check for an employee badge if contacted in the forums and look for an adobe.com domain in the email address if you click reply to an email. then check again and be very suspicious. any other method of contacting (or offering to contact you) is almost certainly a scam.

Hi thanks for your reply.

With the four first steps I meant:

1. restore your new macbook to its factory settings

2. uninstall and clean adobe cc* from your previous mac

3. use migration assistant on your adobe-less old mac to your new macbook

4. properly install adobe cc** on your new macbook

Thanks for your help, I will contact Adobe for this.

for others, never use migration assistant or time machine for (or any other shortcut to proper installation of) adobe programs. you just create a mess that has to be undone.

for @fierce_vibrancy5D1E , you should

1. restore your new macbook to its factory settings

2. uninstall and clean adobe cc* from your previous mac

3. use migration assistant on your adobe-less old mac to your new macbook

4. properly install adobe cc** on your new macbook

* uninstall and clean:

1. uninstall every cc app including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html
2. then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-messaging
3. clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
4. restart your computer (don't skip this)

**proper cc install

1. install the cc desktop app, https://creativecloud.adobe.com/apps/all/desktop?action=install&source=apps&productId=creative-cloud

(if you're unable to download the cc desktop app at this stage, use the link at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html)

2. use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

p.s. you may be able to get your apps on your new mackbook running without following all these steps.  the problem is each time you try (and fail), you cause more problems and a bigger mess to overcome.  these steps will work no matter how much of a mess you create.
