Installation problem with Windows 8

I just purchased a new computer that came with  Windows 8.  I downloaded CS6 from my purchase in Aug '12.  Now I am having a problem with the installation.  After I put in my serial number, it tells me that it's a valid serial number, but the product is invalid.  In the dropdown list it doesn't give me a choice of CS6, only CS6 extended.  Is this a Windows 8 issue?  I need help in getting this issue resolved.  Thanks!

Can you elaborate on "the product is invalid" ?

May be a screen shot can help....

Sorry, I looked at it and it said a qualifying product could not be found on this computer.  Should I install it as a trial version and then add the serial number?

There is no need to install the older version , the previous version serial number should work.
