Installer: Error code: '156'

Hi,

I am receiving these error codes over and over again. Checked permissions, turned of firewall and defender real time protection during installation, used the Creative Cloud CC Cleaner and start all over, but I cannot *** install Photoshop CC.

I already placed a fake "Adobe Photoshop CC 2019.lnk" file at this location, the file gets removed by the installer and then again 156 appears. I am of course local administrator and I can install everything. Also I have a clean Windows 10 installation.

I have seen on the Lightroom forums that some people had this code but it was related to the desktop path. The Adobe Support could not help me.

I mean, it is just a damn software installation, isnt it? I dont know what I can do... just subscribed for one month a cannot use the software now...

Anyone knows how to solve it?

Johnd41401145, sorry you are facing errors while installing Photoshop CC.  Error 156 occurs because the installer is being denied access to create a symbolic link.

From the error, you have posted the installer is being denied access to create the link in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\.  You mentioned that you are logged in under a local administrator account.  Do you have any installed security software that may be preventing the shortcuts from being created?

You can find more information on Error 156 at Creative Cloud download and install errors .
