Installer not working for CS 5.5 premium for Windows 7

My computer had a virus and I reset it.  I have everything else working fine but the installer for adobe will not download.  It continues to say it encountered an error and will not finish.  Can someone assist me please?

You probably need Visual C++ Runtime library from Microsoft.

Exactly what did the error say?

Is Windows up to date?  You may be missing important updates if you reset the computer.
