installer says "this version of the application is no longer available"

Question

Just signed up for InDesign creative cloud. Automatically downloaded installer. Ran installer, got message above, and a link to download installer. That led to a blank page or "alternative download", Followed that, selected W10 64 bit, went to blank page. Rebooted my computer, re-ran installer, same result. No error code given, just text.

for the most recent windows id, you need:

Windows 10 (64-bit)

Supported on Windows 10 versions 1607, 1809, 1903, 1909, 2004.

install the cc desktop app from here https://creativecloud.adobe.com/apps/all/desktop?action=install&source=apps&productId=creative-cloud and use it to install your adobe subscription and trial programs.
