Installing 9.0 upgrade

I' m trying to install adobe 9.0 upgrade on a new computer. It asks me to put in the 7.0 application CD for verification. When I do, I get the error message "Verification Error: A qualifying product was not detected".

    Adobe Illustrator 9.0 Upgrade windows. The one that won't verify is Adobe Illustrator 7.0 Application CD-ROM. I actually have CS2, but I still like using the old 9.0 version
