Installing ACC on a server

Hi all,

I am new to the forums and apologize if this is the wrong area. I am wondering if it is possible to install Creative Cloud on a server so that our employees can use the server to render their graphics, images etc instead of doing it on the local pc which seems to be slowing them down. Any help is appreciated.

One other thing is I would probably putting this in a virtual environment using VM-Ware or Hyper-V so I can use the other part for another project.

The issue I am trying to alleviate is we have 1 user who uses Creative Cloud but when she uses it the pc, which is an HP Omen gaming pc it bombs out. It does it multiple times throughout the day which holds the user up from getting work done. Some of the stuff they are opening is 600MB in size. My theory is that if I put it on a server that user could work on it without crashing their pc and losing work etc. Now I will admit I have not used Adobe Creative Cloud before, I have installed it and tried tweaking it on her pc with no luck. That employee will also start doing some video rendering they mentioned which is why I also thought this would help alleviate the issue. I appreciate everyone's help so far.

If it "bombs" (crashes) that's an issue to address. The software has to run on their own PC. Quite possibly it would crash on any other PC in the same situation.

So please tell us about the crash, in detail: symptoms, messages, software versions (not "latest").

The other thing to be aware of is that you are working with very high-end demanding apps. To work effectively you need high spec, and not to be working with network files. Especial attention needs to be paid to the video card.

Technically, I doubt you can install on a server operating system

As this is true, if each of the users has his license it won't be shared ... And if the server "has" a license on his own, the server would not at all violate any rules.

I could imagine that the media encoder would run on a server, but still there needs to be a kind of queuing system... But with command line access and some programming you could build a quite powerful environment.

Technically, i think you could load it on there, but you couldn't have everyone accessing it at the same time.

How is the server going to render faster than their local computers? Servers don't need anywhere the computing power as a normal computer due to what they are, so they are unlikely to be able to render faster there, especially if there are a bunch of them trying to render there at the same time.

The question is where are the files stored that they are working from that is slowing them down? Are they trying to work on files stored on a server somewhere, and render processes to those files locally? If that's the case, it's the network that's slowing them down. If the files were local or you had a faster network, the renders would go much faster.
