installing photoshop cs4

I can't install photoshop cs4. It says some elements have been installed but not all. I try to uninstall but have to force removal. When I re-install I get the error message - The application could not be installed because an application with that name already exists at the selected installation location. Try installing to a different location. I've tried all recommendations such as stopping the Firewall and virus scanner to no avail.......what can I do?? I'm running windows 7.

    Do you have other version of CS4 installed on your computer? if not try to download and install the Adobe Cleaner Tool (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html?promoid=GYTAU) to remove remnants on your computer
