Installing Premiere and Photoshop Elements 15 Offline from Disc

My home is not connected to the internet. I first launched the two programs seven days ago after installing on my home computer. I was given 72 hours to Activate Offline and as it was the Saturday of the Easter weekend I wasn't able to access an online computer at my local library until last Tuesday morning. The two serial numbers are in my Adobe Account so I entered the two Request Codes in the Offline Activation window and was given two Response Codes.

When I returned to my home computer and entered the two codes (I didn't close down Premiere and Photoshop) a message said that they were invalid.

By that time the 72 hours had expired. It was possible to operate the two programs but if I added media from a folder on my computer a window opened that said that I must "activate this component  (MPEG2) in order to use this feature". A Serial number was given and a blank box was provided underneath in which to enter an Unlock Key. The website www.adobe.com/go/premiereel_encoder was given. I returned to the online computer at the library and eneterd the serial number but nothing happened; no Unlock Key; perhaps because it detected that the software had not been activated offline.

I uninstalled Premiere then reinstalled it. The opening window appeared but when I selected "New Project" there was no activity and I now suspect that the reason is because 7 days have expired since the first launch.

I have used the Support Chatline on three occasions during the week and the last agen has suggested that I uninstall and reinstall again then click on "having trouble with the internet" which will then show an option for "Offline Activation."

I will now return to my home and give it a try but if anyone can provide further comment or info I would be gratefull.

Ed012 I am sorry that you are facing difficulty with the offline activation process.  It is a time limited process and you do need to enter the code within 72 hours.  I would recommend arranging a time when you will have access to a computer, smart phone, or tablet, within 72 hours, to complete the activation process.

The offline activation web site is fairly basic and may even be functional from an old smart phone via their web browsing feature.

For additional details regarding the activation process please see Activate and deactivate Adobe products.

    Hi Jeff

I eventually succeeded in activating both programs. I reinstalled both then clicked on "having trouble accessing the internet" link inside the "Sign In" window. I was then given the option to Activate Offline. I generated two new Request Codes and copied and pasted them into Word. I then added the MPEG video clip to the new Premiere project and received again the window with the request code that would provide the unlock key for the MPEG2 handler. I copied and pasted the code into the Word document.

Then I set off on the 20 minute walk to my local library and used one of the online computers to generate the two Response Codes and the Unlock Key. Back at my home I pasted the Premiere Response Code into the blank line in the dialogue box (I didn't close down the programs) and activated Premiere; it worked this time. I then pasted in the Unlock Key for the MPEG2 handler; it worked.

I then pasted in the Response Code into the blank line in the Photoshop Offline Activation window. It was invalid again!

Back to the library after generating another Request Code and then I returned home and pasted the Response Code once more into the blank line and clicked on Activate. It was invalid again!

That took place on Saturday afternoon and there wasn't enough time to repeat the process so I left it until this morning, Monday.

I uninstalled then reinstalled Photoshop again then generated a new Request Code. There were just 26 hours remaining. This time I pasted the code into a new Word document; I was extremely superstitious by this time. Went through the process at the library then pasted into the blank line and activated; it worked!

The only explanation that can think of is that it behaves in a similar way to Captcha codes when visiting some websites. On those occasions it can sometimes take two or three attempts even when reproducing the code accurately.

You might wonder why I put myself through this torture; I'm not connected to the internet at home, I have never owned a mobile phone, never owned a car. I believe that the Pros of non ownership far outweigh the Cons. I am a Retiree and grew up before the age of the internet and always managed without, and I seem to have more money in the bank than those who rely on loads of technology. And don't get me started on the people who walk along the pavement while looking down at their phones.
