Trying to install Photoshop 5.0 on laptop running Windows 7 but the folders and files that the printed instructions say to use are not on the program disk. Is there any solution to this problem?

Do you mean Photoshop CS5?  If you really do mean Photoshop 5 it is most likely too old to be able to run in Windows 7.

If you do mean CS5, you can download a trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.

Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

Had I meant Photoshop CS5, I would have written Photoshop CS5.....Did you not read what I wrote? I didn't say that it would not run..... I said that the files that are supposed to be on the disk that install the program ARE NOT THERE!

As you can see in the top pic, it is indeed PS 5.0 LE and in the bottom pic, it say to "open the folder named English. Then double-click the Install file to view the installation instructions."

Well, as I said before, the neither the English folder nor the Install file are there on the disk.

My apologies for sounding ungratefull but I just tire of it when people automatically assume that I did not read the version correctly or I didn't write it down correctly.

Aside from all of that, Windows 7 is equipped with an application that allows it to run applications that were written to run with earlier versions of windows. The only way to know if it will run using the compatibility app, is to install it and try. Some times it works and sometimes it doesn't. But if the installation instructions are erroneous......

I really do appreciate any assistance that you can provide,

PS 5.0 LE will never install on Win 7. It's simply not compatible and not all the compatibility modes in teh world can make it happen - Win 7 simplyy does not have the necessary 16bit routines anymore.
