Installing upgrade frpm CS5 to CS6

I have a new computer and have installed CS5. I also have the upgrade to CS6 which was on my old computer. However when I try to install the upgrade I get a message that the program can't find a qualifying item. I have chosen CS5 from a drop down list and entered the serial number but I still get the same message. Both installed easily on my old computer. How do I get round this?

after entering your cs6 upgrade serial number and selecting cs5 from the dropdown, you will then be prompted for the cs5 serial number. make sure you enter the correct number at the proper time.
