Instillation of Photoshop elements 9 on a replacement computer

My computer on which elements 9 was installed crashed. I replaced  it and now cannot install 9 on my new computer. It will not accept my serial number. How can I overcome this problem?

    @9claytonterr: Check to see you are typing it properly. Things like o and 0, 1 and l, etc. Check your Adobe account on the web to see if Adobe has a different serial number assigned to your product.

    Michael,

    Thanks for your email. Of course I am in the UK and as always treated as a second class citizen. Not only do I usually have to pay more for my Adobe products I also have have to phone a US phone number.

    I cannot believe that there is no support available here / online for it.

    The numbers are correct - it is just that I have a dead computer that I can't deactivate.

    I have exactly the same problem. Mac died have replaced it and now get activation error because I can't deactivate.
