Is it possible to override the need for an update?

I have photoshop CC but only on a fairly old laptop. The laptop, mostly due to its age, has very little memory. I keep all files on the cloud or external hard drives, and the disk is still full. I can't install the latest photoshop update as a result. Currently when I load photoshop I get stuck in a sign-in loop due to the fact that I haven't installed the latest update. I am wondering if there's a way to override the need for the update and just run the version I have now.

You can tell Adobe cc that you don't want updates but doing this sends you into a never ending nag loop and I would assume this is why you keep getting asked for sign in

You are never obliged to update if you don't want to so there must be something else going on.

What happens if you try to sign in?

I get a window asking if I want to sign in with this account, and click yes/continue. Then it opens a different window saying I have successfully logged in and verified the license (I could be off on exact wording I'm not at my laptop right now) and that I can continue using the software. When I click continue, it opens the first window again.

The only reason I thought the update might be relevant is on the troubleshooting page for a repeating sign-in request the first troubleshooting step is to update Photoshop.

That is not normal. The first window should not appear again.

Maybe resetting the preferences could solve the problem (a corrupt preferences file can cause weird behavior)
