Is it true that Adobe is now GIVING AWAY Audition 3.0?

Is it really true that, in order to get away from the liability of supporting it, Adobe has now put Audition 3.0 in the public domain and is giving it away FREE?

I'll soon be getting a Dell PC with the i7 chip and Windows 7 on it, and, I cannot locate my original AA 3.0 install disk.
