Issue activating CS 5.5 Design Premium. Serial Number Not Valid but has been used for 4 years.

I have just deactivated CS 5.5 on my old iMac, when i try to use the same serial number when installing it on my new Mac it tells me that 'the serial number is not valid for this product'. Any ideas?
